Meeting Notes – Fiber Art Divas 2/22/21

Ten Divas met via Zoom. We’re looking forward to the day we can meet in person.
Hope everyone is working on their challenge items for the show. The theme is Tea Time and/or Texture.

Naperville Art League’s Public Art Competition show is on display. There were 57 submissions with the theme “Abstract Symphony”. Their website and Facebook lists the winners. Go to the Naperville Art League Facebook page and vote for Viewer’s Choice award. Show ends 3/19.

An amazing solo exhibit is happening now through early September at the Art Institute:  Bisa Butler’s “Portraits” fiber art. https://www.bisabutler.com  She based her art on old black & white photos and made large, colorful wall quilts that will awe and inspire.  Her website is wonderful but hope to go see them in person sometime.

Sadly, all the AQS quilt week shows are canceled for 2021.

Houston is still scheduled for late October.

Next meeting will be March 22 at 7 pm via Zoom.
